• Our Family

We are originally from Tamil Nadu, the southeastern state of India. Tamil Nadu (தமிழ்நாடு; country of Tamil speaking people) is formerly known as the State of Madras. Tamil (தமிழ்) is an ancient language of the Indian sub-continent and belongs to the Dravidian branch. Its origin is different from Sanskrit which belongs to the Indo-Iranian-Germanic branch.

Our immediate ancestors are from Thanjavur district (aka, Tanjore; the rice bowl of India) of Tamil Nadu. My ancestors came to Thanjavur district as book keepers for the Vedharaniyeswarar Temple in Vedaraniam (வேதாரண்யம்) also known as, Thirumaraikkadu (திருமறைக்காடு). Prior to moving to Vedaraniam (alternate spellings: Vedharanyam, Vedharaniyam) our ancestors (Saiva Vellalars; சைவ வேளாளர்;Shaiva Vellalla) were from the Ramanatha Puram district in central Tamil Nadu. After completing my master's degree in Chemisty in Chennai (aka, Madras), I lived/worked in Bangalore, Karnataka and Hyderabad, Andra Pradesh, India. Then I moved to the United States of America in late eighties and have lived in the northeastern state of Massachusetts and now in the southeastern state of Florida.

சோமசுந்தரம் பிறந்து வளர்ந்தது தமிழ் நாடு மாநிலம், இந்தியா. பின்னர் சோமசுந்தரம் தமிழ் நாடு, கர்நாடகம், மற்றும் ஆந்திரப் பிரதேசம் ஆகிய மாநிலங்களில் படித்தும் வேலையும் பார்த்து இருக்கிறேன். பின்னர் நான் பாஸ்டனிலும் தற்போது தலகாசியிலும் வேலை பார்த்து வருகிறேன்.
